Linda Yaccarino resigns as CEO of X after two years

X has yet to announce her successor.

Linda Yaccarino has announced her resignation as CEO of X, Elon Musk’s social media company, after two years at the helm.

Her exit comes just a day after the company’s Grok chatbot sparked outrage for pushing antisemitic tropes, though it remains unclear whether the events are directly connected.

The move also follows Musk’s recent decision to sell X to his artificial intelligence company, xAI, consolidating the two previously intertwined firms and raising questions about Yaccarino’s future role.

In a post on the platform, Yaccarino said she is “immensely grateful” to Musk for “entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App.”

She added: “Now, the best is yet to come as X enters a new chapter with @xai. I’ll be cheering you all on as you continue to change the world.”

X has yet to announce her successor.
