Nigerian music icon Wasiu Ayinde, known as Kwam1, has formally applied for the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland throne. His letter, sent to the Fusengbuwa Ruling House on December 3, 2025, cites his royal lineage and cultural advocacy.
Kwam1’s bid follows the death of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the previous Awujale, in July 2025. Oba Adetona reigned for 64 years. Kwam1’s application aligns with Ogun State and Ijebu customary law.
