A newly married man from Kogi State was abducted by terrorists on January 1, just days after his wedding, while traveling with his wife on the notoriously dangerous Abuja-Lokoja highway. The victim, who had married on December 29, 2025, was intercepted alongside his wife and a friend around the Kotokerefe community; the attackers seized him while his wife and friend managed to escape to raise the alarm.
