Khamenei plans Moscow escape amid rising protests

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly drawn up a contingency plan to flee to Moscow if nationwide protests spiral out of control, according to The Times.

An intelligence source said the plan would involve Khamenei, his son Mojtaba and a small circle of aides leaving Tehran if security forces fail to contain unrest, adding that “the ‘plan B’ is for Khamenei and his very close circle of associates and family.”

The report comes amid growing economic pressure and persistent protests across Iran, with concerns that loyalty within the security forces could weaken.

Analysts say the alleged escape plan highlights fears within the leadership about the regime’s long-term stability if public anger continues to spread.
