Kanu’s transfer appeal deferred, brother’s representation rejected

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled December 8 to hear Nnamdi Kanu’s motion seeking transfer from Sokoto Correctional Facility. Kanu, sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorism on November 20, 2025, filed the ex parte application following his relocation due to safety concerns at Kuje.

During Thursday’s proceedings, Justice James Omotosho rejected representation from Kanu’s brother, Emmanuel, who is not a lawyer. The judge insisted only a legal practitioner could move the motion, advising Kanu to secure proper legal counsel for his appeal process.
