The Kano State Government has defended its 2025 budget implementation, with Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Musa Shanono, refuting media reports of weak sectoral performance. Shanono clarified that earlier reports misrepresented the state’s fiscal standing by not including all funding sources.
Shanono emphasized improved capital performance in health, science and technology, and education sectors for the third quarter of 2025 compared to 2022. He also noted that cross-cutting interventions were not fully captured in the published review.
