Kajuru abduction: 80 worshippers escape, 86 still held

Eighty worshippers abducted in Kajuru have escaped from bandits, while 86 others remain in captivity as community leaders appeal for urgent security intervention.

Eighty worshippers abducted during a church service at Kurmin Wali village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have reportedly escaped from captivity and reunited with their families. The village head, Mr. Ishaku Dan’azumi, said the victims fled from the bandits’ camp and sought safety in neighbouring communities.

Dan’azumi clarified that although initial figures put the abducted number at about 177, verification showed 80 escaped, leaving 86 still in captivity. “We are appealing to the government and the military to expedite action to secure the safe return of the remaining 86 people still in the bandits’ camp,” he said.
