A review of the Jigawa State 2026 budget by SaharaReporters has revealed that N895 million has been approved for the governor’s allowances. The current governor, Umar Namadi, is set to receive this allocation, while N115 million has also been set aside for members’ recess allowances, according to the budget details.
The review also highlights previous allocations from the 2025 fiscal year, including N800 million for the construction and furnishing of the Presidential Wing of the Government House, with N500 million for construction and N300 million for furnishing. Additionally, N50 million was earmarked for a laundry facility in the Government House. The budget performance report for January to September 2025 showed that N437 million was spent on “utility vehicles” for the Government House within just three months.
