A Kaduna court has adjourned a divorce case in which a woman is seeking dissolution of her marriage after her husband relocated to Ireland and allegedly abandoned her.
A housewife, Augustina Chinenyenwa, has asked the Upper Customary Court, Daura Road, Kaduna, to dissolve her three-year-old marriage to Oluwasegun James on grounds of abandonment. She told the court that her husband relocated to Ireland two years ago in search of work and has refused to visit her.
“He has failed to keep his promise of coming home to visit me,” she said. The defendant was absent from court and unrepresented. The judge, Patience Musa, granted an application for substituted service via WhatsApp and adjourned the case until February 18 for mention.
