Former Ogun Central senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello has dismissed claims that she plans to contest in the 2027 general elections, despite recent campaign billboards and endorsements.
Speaking on Remo TV, the ex-lawmaker and daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo said supporters initiated the activities without her involvement, stressing that she is not actively campaigning and remains focused on her academic life in the United States.
She said, “There are some people who have worked with me in the past… I told them to stop because I was like I have a good life, I live in the US,” but later allowed them to continue after being advised not to discourage their enthusiasm.
Obasanjo-Bello added, “Nobody can say I am actively campaigning… I have given them permission to do whatever they feel they want to do.”
