Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara says his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress is a “spiritual assignment” linked to the state’s progress. Speaking at the Government House in Port Harcourt while receiving his APC membership card from Chairman Tony Okocha, Fubara said his move was intended to align with President Bola Tinubu’s re-election efforts and ensure a cooperative relationship with the presidency.
Fubara thanked APC leaders for the reception and said his decision was made in the interest of the state’s stability and development. He pledged full support for strengthening the party structure in Rivers State, assuring members and executives that his administration would keep the APC “active and fully functional” in the state. “This is now your home, Mr Chairman,” he said, promising continuous backing for party operations.
