ITF Reiterates Plans to Empower Nigerian Workers for Modern Industry

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has renewed its pledge to equip Nigeria’s technical workforce with skills relevant to modern industry. This initiative aims to tackle youth unemployment and the digital skills gap, forming part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

ITF Director-General Dr. Afiz Ogun highlighted the organization’s mission of national development through skills acquisition during a visit to Lanre Shittu Motor Assembly plant. The Fund is also finalizing a business incubation scheme to help trainees launch their own enterprises.

The Skills Upgrading and Professional Advancement (SUPA) program is a key mechanism for enhancing workforce capacity. It focuses on retraining, retooling, and certifying Nigerian artisans to meet international standards and compete globally.
