Inter Miami crowned MLS champions as Messi shines in 3–1 win

Inter Miami clinched their first MLS Cup on Saturday with a 3–1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps, driven by Lionel Messi’s standout display. According to an agency report, Messi created all three goals, including assists for Rodrigo De Paul and Tadeo Allende after Edier Ocampo’s early own goal and Ali Ahmed’s equaliser for Vancouver. “I always believed,” co-owner David Beckham said, praising the club’s long-awaited breakthrough.

Vancouver, led by Thomas Müller, nearly overturned the game after Ahmed’s leveller and Emmanuel Sabbi hitting both posts. However, a mistake by Andres Cubas allowed Messi to set up De Paul for Miami’s second before assisting Allende in stoppage time. The victory crowns Miami’s rise since joining MLS in 2020 and marks the final match for retiring veterans Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
