Atiku Abubakar has urged President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency on insecurity following the abduction of over 50 students and staff from a secondary school in Niger State.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately declare a state of emergency on Nigeria’s worsening security situation following the abduction of more than 50 students and staff of St. Mary Secondary School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
Reacting in a statement on his Facebook page, Atiku described the latest attack as distressing and condemned the government’s failure to take decisive action. “Not again. This is truly heartbreaking. How many more lives must be shattered before decisive action is taken?” he wrote, urging the Federal Government to act with urgency.
He insisted, “It is not too late for the government to finally declare a state of emergency in insecurity and confront this menace with the urgency it deserves.”
