The 25-year-old Italian-Senegalese influencer was stopped at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
TikTok star Khaby Lame was reportedly detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Friday for overstaying his visa.
According to USA Today, the 25-year-old Italian-Senegalese influencer was stopped at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. ICE said Lame was offered voluntary departure, which he accepted.
Lame rose to fame during the COVID-19 pandemic, gaining massive popularity for his silent reactions to complicated life hacks, using the hashtag “#learnfromkhaby.” He is currently an ambassador for Boss, Binance, and UNICEF.
Born in Senegal and raised in Italy, Lame only obtained Italian citizenship in 2022. Reflecting on his rise, he told People magazine, “Before TikTok, I was working in a factory… Then my world changed completely. It’s a whole different life now.”
His detainment comes amid a broader immigration crackdown under President Donald Trump, whose administration has conducted mass deportation raids across the U.S.
