The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term and spend eight years in office, saying a dream he had foretold the President’s re-election. The monarch made the remark on Wednesday while receiving the 46th Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral A. A. Mustapha, during a courtesy visit to the palace.
Oba Akiolu urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration, assuring that the economic hardships being experienced were temporary and would give way to positive outcomes from the government’s ongoing reforms. He said Nigeria’s current challenges would be overcome through collective effort, stressing that the task of rebuilding and securing the country should not be left to the government alone.
The Oba also commended the Nigerian Navy for its professionalism, describing its role in Lagos as critical, and called for the creation of a joint intelligence board to strengthen intelligence sharing among security agencies.
