How Yahoo boy got ‘scammed’ in attempt to scam ‘client’

A self-described internet fraud promoter, popularly referred to as a “yahoo boy,” has accused the son of Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, of defrauding him. The allegation was made on Tuesday via X by a user identified as Noble, who operates the account @TenmanNoble1. In a now-deleted post, Noble shared screenshots of transactions with an individual he claimed was Akinsanya’s son, alleging that he was scammed out of N300,000. MC Oluomo is the former chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

In the post, Noble claimed the payment was for an “update” he needed to execute a separate fraud scheme involving an unsuspecting victim from whom he intended to obtain $35,000. He alleged that after making the payment, the promised update was never delivered. Before its deletion, the post gained significant traction on the platform, recording more than 970,000 views, 529 comments, 814 reposts and over 2,400 likes.

A review of Noble’s X account by FIJ revealed multiple posts in which he openly discussed attempts to defraud individuals, whom he referred to as “clients” or “CL.” Several posts dating back to 2024 showed him describing conversations with potential victims and referencing others he claimed were profiting from internet fraud. FIJ had previously reported on the growing trend of fraudsters openly discussing their activities online, including posts from May 2025 featuring images of hospital patients and documents labelled as “hospital proof.”
