‘How NGOs are funding terrorism in Nigeria’

Popular Nigerian reality star and comedian DeeOne has called on the Federal Government to investigate the financial activities of all non-governmental organisations (NGOs) operating in the country. The entertainer made the appeal in a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, citing concerns over what he described as unlawful and suspicious practices by some NGOs.

DeeOne alleged that certain NGOs are being used as fronts to fund criminal activities, including terrorism, kidnapping, child trafficking, and other forms of human exploitation. “Federal Government of Nigeria, please investigate all the NGO accounts in the country. A lot of them are being used to sponsor terrorism, kidnappers, child trafficking and even human harvesting,” he said.

The comedian urged authorities to conduct thorough audits of NGO finances, warning that while humanitarian work is important, it must not come at the expense of human lives. “Please do a thorough investigation on all these NGO accounts. In Nigeria today, once somebody rescues another person, the next thing is they open an NGO and suddenly become multi-millionaires,” he alleged. “We are not saying people should not make money, but it has to be legitimate and not at the expense of people’s lives,” he added.
