Governor Lawal condemns bandit-planted explosion in Zamfara killing five, mourns LGA Vice Chairman

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has mourned the death of five people killed in an explosion along the Gurusu–Gwashi road in Bukkuyum LGA. Describing the attack as a “senseless loss of innocent lives,” he said the device was planted by armed bandits operating in the area.

The governor also condoled with the family of Mu’azu Gwashi, Vice Chairman of Bukkuyum LGA, who was murdered by his abductors after more than six months in captivity. Gwashi was kidnapped earlier this year, with his abductors demanding ₦30 million but reportedly collecting only ₦15 million before killing him.

Governor Lawal prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and asked Allah to grant their families strength amid the tragedy. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing insecurity across the state.
