Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo attributes the rise in kidnappings and killings in northern Nigeria to a deliberate plot aimed at destabilizing the country and undermining President Bola Tinubu. He made these claims during a reception for leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide in Benin City.
Okpebholo noted similar tactics were used against former President Goodluck Jonathan. President Tinubu has since declared a nationwide security emergency and initiated recruitment into the Armed Forces to enhance security operations across affected states like Kebbi, Plateau, Niger, and Kwara.
