Google.org backs ATF for AI talent in Africa

Google.org has committed $1 million to the African Technology Forum (ATF) to scale its AI Challenge. This initiative will train over 10,000 university students and young professionals in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa over two years, aiming to address the continent’s AI skills gap.

ATF Co-founder Mawuli Tse stated, “Africa’s greatest resource is its human talent. This funding from Google.org allows us to build the pipeline that will ensure this generation doesn’t just consume AI but builds it.” Liza Ateh of Google.org emphasized building a diverse and equitable AI ecosystem.
