“God lifted me” despite conspiracies – Defence Minister Musa

Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd), has attributed his rise to national leadership to divine intervention, saying circumstances once appeared stacked against him.

Speaking during a service at Conquerors Global Assembly in Abuja, he said, “We give God the glory for what has happened this year. Even when the enemy thought they were putting us down, they did not know God was going to lift us up. In their small mind they conspired and thought they had won. But as long as you have God as your pillar you will win.”

He urged worshippers not to lose hope, adding, “because we serve a living God. He will never give up on us.”

Musa cautioned against negative remarks about the country, warning that constant criticism could undermine national progress.

“If you continue to talk down on your country you don’t mean well,” he said, while advising Nigerians to pray for leaders and practise what they profess. He noted that challenges build strength, stating, “If you are never challenged you can never improve in life.”

President Bola Tinubu nominated Musa as Minister of Defence on December 2, describing him as capable of leading the ministry and strengthening Nigeria’s security framework, before he was sworn in two days later.
