Ghana Armed Forces dismiss claim that 60% of applicants are HIV positive

The Ghana Armed Forces has officially refuted false reports of high HIV rates among recruits, confirming that medical screenings are incomplete and no such data exists.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) dismissed viral reports claiming 60% of recruitment applicants tested positive for HIV, labeling the story “FAKE NEWS.” In a Sunday statement from Burma Camp, officials clarified that medical screenings are still ongoing. The military stressed that “no results have been declared as at now,” urging the public to ignore the misinformation.

Authorities warned that such unverified claims create “unnecessary fear” among applicants and their families. The GAF is now working to “trace the originators of the mischievous story” to hold them accountable. Media outlets were cautioned to use only authorized channels, as the military maintains that the integrity of its professional recruitment process remains fully intact.
