The lawmaker representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, Mrs Regina Akume, has urged her husband, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, to “return to Christianity,” insisting that his rise in public service was rooted in his Christian faith.
Mrs Akume made the remarks during the wedding reception of the SGF’s son on Sunday in Makurdi, a video of which was later shared by Idoma Television and went viral online. She said, “I pray that the Lord will increase his years… To drop Christianity now and go for anything else, he will not be successful.”
Her comments come amid public discussion following reports that the SGF recently married another wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, an announcement shared by the Dajoh family on Facebook.
The family welcomed the new bride, describing her arrival as a “beautiful union” and urging supporters to continue backing the SGF.
Queen Zaynab was previously married to the Ooni of Ife, with that marriage ending in 2017 after roughly 17 months.
