Frontline troops accuse ‘repentant’ boko haram of leaking military secrets

Frontline Nigerian soldiers have exclusively revealed that government-integrated “repentant” Boko Haram members are leaking critical military strategies, movements, and armoury locations to terrorist commanders, significantly increasing the risk and success rate of attacks on military bases.

Frontline Nigerian soldiers in the Northeast have accused government-backed “repentant” Boko Haram members of systematically leaking critical military strategies, movements, and armoury details to the terrorist group’s commanders. The personnel, serving in Borno and Yobe states, condemned the policy of integrating ex-insurgents as a “deadly mistake that continues to cost lives.”

According to a soldier, these elements routinely brief terrorists on camp routines and weapon locations: “Before Boko Haram attack any military camp in the Northeast, they already know how we operate. These repentant fighters tell them everything,” he revealed. Another soldier lamented the forced alliance with those who killed colleagues, describing the policy as a betrayal of frontline sacrifices. The sabotage reportedly includes disclosing the location of the armoury and food supplies, giving attackers “precision” and increasing soldier vulnerability.
The revelations intensify ongoing tension and frustration among troops compelled to patrol and share camps with ex-insurgents who surrendered under government amnesty programmes.
