Former Justice Minister and AGF, Abubakar Malami, has acknowledged that the EFCC invited him to “clarify on some issues,” adding in a Facebook post that he intends to honour the summons as a “citizen of law and order.”
Malami, a prominent figure in the Buhari administration and a 2027 Kebbi governorship hopeful, said, “I am informing my family and friends that EFCC has invited me to clarify on some issues, and as a citizen of law and order and patriot, I am willing to honor this invitation without any hesitation.”
His tenure as AGF from 2015–2023 was marked by controversies ranging from allegations of selective prosecution to financial irregularities, interference in high-profile cases, and leadership decisions that critics argued undermined human rights and press freedom.
