Flybird private jet crash-lands at Kano Airport, all 11 on board are Safe

A private jet operated by Flybird Aircraft Management Services Limited was involved in an incident on Sunday morning at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

DAILY POST reports that the aircraft, which was flying from Abuja, landed at about 9:30 a.m. with 11 people on board, including three crew members. The aircraft has been identified as 5N-ISB.

An eyewitness at the airport said all passengers and crew members were quickly and safely evacuated from the aircraft shortly after it came to a stop. According to the eyewitness, no injuries or fatalities were recorded as a result of the incident.

Confirming the development, the General Manager of Flybird Aircraft Management Services Limited, Dr. Tracy Wilson, said the aircraft experienced an operational issue during arrival but was safely handled by the flight crew.

“The flight crew followed all established operational and safety procedures, and the aircraft was brought to a safe stop. All passengers and crew disembarked safely, and no injuries were recorded,” Wilson said.

She added that the aircraft has since been secured and that the incident has been formally reported to the relevant aviation authorities. Wilson explained that a detailed technical inspection and investigation are currently underway in line with regulatory requirements.
