Five charged following viral Cincinnati brawl that left woman unconscious

Cincinnati police have charged five individuals in connection with a brutal street brawl that went viral over the weekend.

The early Saturday incident occurred around 3 a.m. in downtown Cincinnati, where a disturbing video showed a man being stomped and a woman knocked unconscious after attempting to intervene.

Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge confirmed the arrests Monday but did not release the suspects’ names or the specific charges. “We have five we have charged, and anticipate more,” Theetge said, noting that more arrests are expected.

Theetge described the event as a “fight” and added, “Outside of this one incident, an amazing success for this city,” referring to other peaceful events that night, including a baseball game and music festival.

She criticized both bystanders—saying about 100 people were present, but only one called 911—and the press, accusing them of showing “one version of what occurred.”

The motive behind the brawl remains unclear. The footage sparked national outrage, with Vice President JD Vance and Elon Musk calling for swift arrests.

Investigations are ongoing.
