First Abu Dhabi Bank plans to open a Lagos representative office to anchor its expansion into Nigeria and the wider West African market.
First Abu Dhabi Bank has announced plans to open a representative office in Lagos as part of its sub-Saharan Africa expansion. The disclosure was made on Monday at the Investopia Africa event in Lagos by the bank’s Group Head of Wholesale Banking, Martin Tricaud, who said the move followed extensive evaluation of Africa’s growth potential.
Tricaud said the office would serve Nigeria and the wider West African region, describing Lagos as a strategic financial hub. “We reviewed several possibilities and concluded that Nigeria, and Lagos in particular, offers a great opportunity to establish our first footprint in sub-Saharan Africa,” he said, adding that the office would open “very, very soon.”
