The Federal Government of Nigeria has promised to pay all outstanding debts to road contractors by December 20, following protests over non-payment. Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced that President Bola Tinubu approved a special committee to verify and settle claims, emphasizing that further demonstrations are unnecessary.
Umahi also revealed that the Ministry of Works has invited the ICPC and EFCC to audit all federal road projects nationwide, aiming for transparency and public confidence. The announcement was made during the reopening of the Keffi Flyover, where the Minister also defended the pace and quality of work on the Abuja–Kano Road.
