The Nigerian federal government reported over 10,326 gender-based violence (GBV) cases between January and September 2025, with 2,444 survivors receiving support. This was revealed by the Minister of Women Affairs at a dialogue on technology-facilitated GBV in Abuja.
To combat this, the government plans to relaunch a GBV dashboard and establish an Emergency Response Fund. International partners also urged a national online safety policy, rapid content removal, and specialized digital abuse courts.
