The Federal Government, through the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee, has guaranteed that new tax laws will be implemented fairly, without intruding on personal bank accounts of Nigerian citizens. Chairman Joseph Tegbe confirmed that no unwarranted investigations would target ordinary individuals, emphasizing transparency and a human-centered approach.
The reforms, set to begin January 1, aim for economic stability and improved revenue while protecting vulnerable groups. The committee, inaugurated by Minister Wale Edun in Abuja, will conduct broad consultations to address stakeholder concerns, including potential reviews of provisions like capital gains tax.
