Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk and new CEO of Turning Point USA, appeared at the New York Times DealBook Summit on December 3, 2025.
Interviewed by Andrew Ross Sorkin, she spoke about her late husband, forgiving his killer, and her political views. When asked about the 2028 election, she said, “He’s a dear friend. My husband and him were good friends. …I do have to say, yes, we adore JD.”
Erika and Vice President JD Vance have drawn attention for their onstage hugs and comments noting similarities to her late husband. Online commenters speculated she might seek a political role or be more than a friend.
Observers noted tensions between JD and his wife, Usha Vance, with reports of her being seen without her wedding ring. Erika stated, “No one will ever replace my husband. But I do see some similarities of my husband in JD — in Vice President JD Vance. I do.”
