Egypt has “categorically rejected” Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said during a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Asaad al-Shaibani at the Doha Forum. Abdelatty emphasized Cairo’s commitment to Syria’s unity and territorial integrity, stating the importance of supporting national institutions to protect stability and the rights of the Syrian people.
The condemnation comes amid ongoing Israeli strikes in Syria, causing civilian casualties and damage to military assets. Abdelatty stressed that Syria poses no threat to Israel and warned against using regional instability to justify interventions undermining Syrian sovereignty. He affirmed Egypt’s diplomatic engagement to promote respect for Syria’s borders and a stable regional order.
