The Edo Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has established 14 new Tax Identification Number (TIN) registration centers statewide, aiming to decentralize services and simplify compliance. This move is proactive, preceding the nationwide implementation of Nigeria’s new Tax Acts on January 1, 2026. The new centers are spread across key zonal tax offices.
Courage Eboigbe, EIRS head of corporate communications, also announced the launch of a USSD code, *668#, for immediate TIN registration and verification via mobile. Additionally, a Diaspora TIN platform is active in 13 countries. These initiatives aim to boost inclusivity and ease of doing business for all taxpayers.
