Lagos NURTW chairman Sego over a viral threat against non-APC voters in 2027, which he later denied as propaganda.
The Department of State Services (DSS) has interrogated the Lagos State chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, after a video surfaced of him warning that those who refuse to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 would face consequences. In the video, Sego said, “Anyone who refuses to vote for APC or who says he has decided to vote against APC will be dealt with, the person will learn a lesson.”
Following public backlash, he denied making threats, claiming he was being targeted by rivals. “I didn’t threaten anyone; this is the will of the people who do not want the work I’m doing in Lagos to prosper,” he told reporters after DSS grilling.
The incident has revived concerns about political intimidation in Lagos, recalling similar threats and violent disruptions during the 2023 elections.
