DSS arrests doctor allegedly treating injured kidnappers in forest

A suspected courier supplying medical materials to wounded bandits in Kwara State has been intercepted in the Jebba area. Security sources said intelligence reports revealed that medical supplies were being moved from Sokoto to treat injured bandits hiding inside forests across the state. “So, we are advising improved security measures in health facilities in thickly forested areas which the kidnappers may target,” an official said.

Confirming the incident, Kwara Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in the fight against banditry. “This is a major stride by the DSS. It reinforces the fact that security agencies are closing in on these criminals and blocking the support systems that enable their operations,” he said. He added that government collaboration with security agencies will continue to intensify.
