DSS abducts NYSC member, Oyinyechi, in Ebonyi, moves her to undisclosed location

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly abducted Miss Daniela Onyinyechi Ekuma, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, arresting her in the early hours of Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was detained in Afikpo North, Ebonyi State, before being taken to the DSS office in Abakaliki.

Daniela’s family has accused the secret police of transferring her to an undisclosed location, without any official explanation regarding her whereabouts.

The distraught parents revealed that Daniela travelled from her NYSC camp in Ekiti State to Afikpo North to attend her grandmother’s burial on August 21, 2025.

Despite numerous efforts to ascertain her location, the family says the DSS has remained silent. “Presently I don’t know her whereabout and I have made several efforts to know where she was taken to again without result and DSS is not disclosing any information about her,” they stated.

They underscored their growing fear for her safety, highlighting that Daniela is expected to resume at her NYSC place of assignment in September 2025.
