Does Dele Momodu Understand The Meaning of Friendship

What does Egbon Dele Momodu mean when he says President Tinubu “cannot hold Nigeria by the jugular like he did in Lagos”? That is an ambiguous statement that is neither here nor there. Can he throw more light on what he is trying to communicate?

As President of Nigeria, shouldn’t Asiwaju Tinubu be in full control of the country? Should he be a weak leader?

Who does Egbon Dele Momodu expect to hold Nigeria if not Asiwaju Tinubu?

Nigeria is a fairly brutal country, and anything short of a hands-on leader will be insufficient to preside over our nation.

I recall that just ten years ago, Egbon Dele, wrongly as it turns out, called another President weak. What does he really want?

In a nation with terror groups and separatists, does Mr. Momodu expect Nigeria to be presided over by a non-assertive leader?

Egbon Dele should come clean and tell us what he means. While he is at it, he should also tell his readers what he means when he says President Tinubu is his friend because there seems to be a disconnect between his words and actions.

I sincerely urge Egbon Dele Momodu to understand true friendship and loyalty. I have serious doubts about whether he does.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan was more than my boss. He is my senior brother and beloved friend. Waziri Atiku Abubakar is not just someone I worked with. He is a leader whom I respect.

Because of these friendships, I have NEVER criticised either man or made public comments about their ambitions and present actions, even when put on the spot by journalists on live television.

I maintained this position even after I was indecently and dishonestly attacked by some of Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s spokespersons.

A paid employee cannot make me fight a friend!

If I have anything to say about either, I will seek a private audience and make my position known to them confidentially.

Egbon Dele Momodu contradicts himself by claiming to be President Tinubu’s long-standing friend and then publicly criticising and undermining him.

That is not the behaviour of a friend, especially for a man like President Tinubu, of whom Egbon Dele has admitted publicly to being a financial beneficiary when he was in exile.

I am not saying that one should not criticise their friends, I am instead saying that you ought not to do that publicly and in a way that undermines them.

If Egbon Dele Momodu does not know, let me help him with clarity that makes him understand that there is a difference between the terms friend, acquaintance, comrade, and constituent.

A friend is somebody who is for you. He is not for what you are for or against; he is just for you. You can count on the support of a friend irrespective of whether or not you have common interests or enemies.

A comrade is not for what you are for, nor does he share the same interests as you. A comrade is simply one who is against what you are against.

An acquaintance, on the other hand, is someone you know casually. An acquaintance is not your friend, even though they may be very polite and friendly to you.

Finally, a constituent is someone who is for what you are for. In other words, you share common interests. You can count on the loyalty of a constituent as long as you share the same interests.

Egbon Dele Momodu acts more like an acquaintance to President Tinubu and a comrade to Waziri Atiku Abubakar.

I appeal to him to rethink his actions and utterances if he wants to continue to describe himself as a friend of President Bola Tinubu.
