The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced nationwide sale of petrol at N739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc stations. The refinery described this as a significant milestone in its mission to deliver affordable fuel and stabilise the market. With over 2,000 MRS outlets, the pricing is expected to ensure nationwide consumer benefits.
The refinery commended patriotic marketers and called on others to join the effort. “Historically, the festive season has been associated with fuel scarcity and sharp price hikes,” the firm stated. It emphasised that its guaranteed daily supply of 50 million litres fundamentally alters holiday supply dynamics, conserving foreign exchange and strengthening energy security.
However, the organisation warned against attempts by “unscrupulous” operators to create artificial scarcity. It urged regulatory authorities to take firm action. The refinery also encouraged consumers to report any MRS station selling above N739 per litre and called on other operators to patronise its products to ensure broad-based market relief.
