Dangote promises steady fuel supply during Christmas

The President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has assured Nigerians of uninterrupted petrol supply during Christmas and beyond, declaring that nationwide fuel queues are “now history.” After meeting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, he said the refinery has notified the NMDPRA of its readiness to deliver 50 million litres of petrol daily, far above national demand. He added that by February, output will exceed consumption by up to 20 million litres, enabling exports.

Dangote also announced expansion plans to raise refinery capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day by 2028 and scale urea production to 12 million tonnes annually. He backed the naira-for-crude initiative and urged wealthy Nigerians to invest in industries rather than luxury assets. He further disclosed plans for a major deep-sea port at Olokola to ease export bottlenecks, noting that “what we want is to make Nigeria the refining hub of Africa.”
