The Nigeria Customs Service’s Apapa command intercepted 25.5 kilograms of cocaine on a Brazilian ship, MV San Anthonio, in Lagos on Saturday. Area Controller Emmanuel Oshoba stated the drugs were found in five bags, leading to the vessel’s detention.
Oshoba credited intelligence-led operations and collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for the discovery. He noted the ship had previously called at known drug trade hubs like Honduras and Guatemala after leaving Brazil.
