Daniel Okoh, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led a delegation of Christian leaders to President Bola Tinubu’s Lagos residence on Friday to express gratitude for his administration’s welfare programs. The visit was intended to acknowledge efforts by the president and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu in supporting vulnerable Nigerians. Mr Okoh emphasized the purpose was to recognize the government’s commitment to national development and poverty alleviation.
“This visited by the leader of Christians Association of Nigeria to the home of President Bola Tinubu and his wife, mother of the nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is to appreciate them for what they are doing, providing for the poor and being committed to moving Nigeria forward,” Mr Okoh said. He highlighted the administration’s dedication to advancing the country’s interests while addressing the needs of disadvantaged citizens.
The CAN president particularly praised recent security improvements across Nigeria, noting a marked decline in attacks on churches during the Christmas season. “And of course, the recent effort they are making to ensure every Nigerian lives in peace in the country. This Christmas is one so many years that we are not waking up to phone calls to say this church was attacked. It is a testimony and we hope and pray that this will continue,” Mr Daniel said. He expressed hope that the peaceful conditions would persist.
