VIDEO: Bwala declares Lagos ‘No-Man’s land,’ defends Federal investments

Daniel Bwala has defended heavy federal investments in Lagos, calling it a “no-man’s land” and Nigeria’s commercial pride.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has described Lagos State as a “no-man’s land” and Nigeria’s economic pride. Speaking on Arise Television’s Daybreak programme on Wednesday, Bwala argued that federal investments in Lagos were justified as the state serves as the nation’s commercial hub.

He said, “Let me tell you why Lagos State is different. Lagos State is a no-man’s land. In the last election, the President who comes from the South-West did not win Lagos. That tells you the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos State.”

Bwala highlighted that top Nigerian businessmen, including Aliko Dangote, operate from Lagos, likening the city’s economic role to London, New York, and Paris. He maintained that the reported N3.9 trillion worth of federal projects allocated to Lagos in two years was necessary for national growth.

“So the idea that you put more in Lagos than in other states… should be put into proper context. Lagos is the pride of the country,” he stated.
