Boko Haram Strikes Again: Suicide bombers kill five soldiers in Borno

A suicide bomber attacked a military convoy in the Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State, killing five soldiers and injuring an unspecified number of troops, security sources confirmed to Daily Trust. The assault, carried out using a car packed with explosives, also affected two senior military officers—a major and a lieutenant. The attack caused significant damage to military equipment used in recent clearance operations against insurgents in the region.

According to sources, the troops were returning from a successful operation that dislodged several insurgent camps and resulted in numerous enemy casualties when the bombing occurred. An unnamed officer stated that while setbacks are common in such operations, the military remains resolute, noting that the commander, Manga, is unharmed and the mission continues despite the loss of five soldiers.
