A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has declared several prominent figures—including Governor Bala Mohammed, Governor Seyi Makinde, ex-chairman Umar Damagum, and others—no longer members of the party. In a statement, National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu said the public should avoid dealing with those behind the recent Ibadan convention, insisting they had been expelled and lack authority to act within the PDP.
The statement listed over a dozen expelled members and accused them of “falsely parading themselves as members of the PDP.” It added: “These individuals were duly expelled by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party held on November 18, 2025, for various offences bordering on anti-party activities and gross misconduct.” Describing the Ibadan convention as “a charade,” the faction said any newly announced officers are “impostors and meddlesome interlopers.”
