The Fusengbuwa Ruling House has defended its decision to fix the Awujale of Ijebuland application form at ₦10 million, saying it was agreed through internal consultations to ensure fairness among aspirants. The Olori Ebi, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, spoke on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief amid controversies surrounding the stalled succession process.
Owoyemi said all funds were refunded after the Ogun State Government directed that the process be opened without financial conditions. He dismissed claims of commercialisation, insisting the money was for administrative costs, not personal gain, and confirmed compliance with the government’s directive as disputes continue following Oba Sikiru Adetona’s death.
