Atiku to Tinubu: Dump your escalade for Innoson to prove ‘Nigeria first’ sincerity

“We challenge President Tinubu to stop the noise and trade in his beloved Escalade for an Innoson”

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called out President Bola Tinubu’s “Nigeria First” policy as a “tired Public Relations stunt,” demanding concrete action to back the rhetoric. In a statement issued Wednesday, Atiku challenged Tinubu to trade his luxury Escalade for an Innoson Motors vehicle, urging his ministers to also abandon foreign-made cars like Rolls Royce. “That single act will do more to promote local industry than a thousand policy memos,” Atiku said, questioning whether the policy was meant only for the masses.

Atiku further criticized Tinubu’s foreign trips, suggesting he vacation at Nigerian tourist sites like Obudu Ranch or Yankari Game Reserve instead of Paris or London. He also called for an end to presidential medical tourism, insisting Tinubu use Nigerian hospitals like LUTH or UCH Ibadan. “If these hospitals are good enough for ordinary Nigerians, they should be good enough for their Commander-in-Chief,” Atiku stated, accusing the administration of hypocrisy.
