Ashamed to say I fell in love but I actually did and it’s crazy. Everyone said no. You all should stop saying that I married out of greed. We were no broke.”
Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has claimed that her mother attempted to prevent her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, stating her mother “held me down in Senator Ned Nwoko’s house for seven years.”
According to DAILY POST reporting, Daniels shared the remarks in a lengthy video on her Instagram page on Wednesday, refuting claims that she was forced into the marriage at a young age. Contrary to insinuations of greed, the actress pleaded for Nigerians to stop insulting her mother, insisting her family—including her mother and brother—opposed the union because she was their only source of livelihood.
Daniels, who recently accused her husband of domestic violence, expressed deep regret over the relationship with the 64-year-old lawmaker.
She stated: “For seven years my mum held me down. She tried but I’m the one that has a coconut head. I’m ashamed to say I fell in love but I actually did and it’s crazy. Everyone said no. You all should stop saying that I married out of greed. We were no broke.”
The actress confessed to extreme emotional distress, adding: “I drove out at night one day trying kill myself if I don’t marry Ned.”
