Arsenal claimed a narrow advantage in the Carabao Cup semi-final after a 3-2 first-leg win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, with goals from Ben White, Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi proving decisive. White opened the scoring early from a Declan Rice corner before Gyokeres doubled the lead early in the second half, but Alejandro Garnacho pulled one back for Chelsea.
Zubimendi restored Arsenal’s two-goal cushion with a composed finish following a flowing move, before Garnacho struck again late to set up a tense finish, which Mikel Arteta’s side successfully managed to carry a one-goal lead into the second leg at the Emirates Stadium on February 3.
